Word Range: less than 5000 for fiction, preferably in the 1500-3500 range.

Guidelines: SpecFiction accepts unsolicited manuscripts of short fiction ( 1500 - 5000 words), poetry, short philosophical essays and book reviews . This zine is a perpetually evolving publication with stories,poems,articles & reviews/essays posted on bi-monthly basis or as often as editors find suitable material. Full copyright remains with the author after publication.
We are also including an annual or semi-annual print Anthology of SpecFiction for contributors selected to participate in our Literary Journal. If you are submitting, please include a brief bio & publishing credits. Will consider reprints, no simultaneous submission, (e-mail submission only)
Send attachments only in Word.doc format or RTF. Please note: Minor cosmetic or formatting changes may be made, while major changes will be sent back to the author for revision. In the subject line put one of the following as a title "Poetry Submission" "Short Story Submission" "Essay Submission" or "Art Submission". We are always looking for Artwork in a Fantasy, Horror or Sci-Fi genre setting. We accept mix media color art for site and black & white pencil or pen & ink renderings for print Anthology. Payment for selected Anthology stories & Artwork will be one copy of SpecFiction Anthology Issue.
It's also recommended that poetry submissions be submitted in blocks of five poems to reflect a body of work from author, max 5 poems per submission. Selected poems will be included in semi-annual print Anthology. Work not titled in the subject line will be treated as spam by the editor and deleted. New unpublished writers are encouraged to submit, response in 4 weeks (hopefully).
